Intern

Yin Lu is an undergraduate Forensic Science major at University of central Florida with a strong interest in forensic toxicology and forensic pathology. Yin is especially interested in how science can help detect toxic substances in the body and uncover causes of death as part of criminal investigations. Yin has taken classes in organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, and trace evidence, which have helped build a solid foundation for working in forensic toxicology. In recent school project, Yin used UV-Vis spectroscopy to analyze and identify compounds in nail polish. This summer, Yin is excited to be an intern at the Center for Forensic Science Research and Education (CFSRE), where twill gain hands-on experience in toxicology and learn more about how chemistry is used in forensic toxicology.
