Robert Pures is an undergraduate chemistry major at Carnegie Mellon University with a strong background in both synthetic and analytical techniques. As a researcher in an environmental analytical chemistry lab, Robert focuses on the remediation of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), with extensive experience operating an LC/MS-QTOF for the analysis of complex environmental samples. His work combines method development and contaminant detection to address urgent environmental issues. Passionate about using chemistry to solve real-world problems, Robert is excited to apply his skills and continue learning through the chemistry summer internship at the CFSRE.
