Rebecca Kaup is an undergraduate student at Rollins College in Winter Park, FL, pursuing a degree in biochemistry. She has had a strong interest in the field of forensic science since she was a young age, with particular interests in drug toxicology. Throughout her academic career, Rebecca served on the executive board of Kappa Delta as the vice president of Inclusion. This role allowed her to educate members on DEI and practicing safety in all aspects of college life. Her coursework in medicinal chemistry, analytical chemistry, and biochemistry has encouraged her to dive deeper into the field of forensic science to not just to go through the hands-on work but to understand the effects one could face from what is seen in the laboratory setting. Her previous work at Furman University allowed her to get hands-on experience working with scientific equipment and software. Rebecca is excited to begin working with CFSRE to expand her knowledge of forensic science and get her foot in the door for all that is to come. She is eager to expand her network, meet fellow young scientists, and continue to keep growing and learning.
