Intern

Katherine Holihan is an undergraduate student at the University of Georgia, majoring in Chemistry. Katherine brings a unique interdisciplinary perspective to the field—combining rigorous scientific training with an understanding of courtroom processes and forensic psychology.
Her hands-on research experience in Dr. Robert Phillips’ lab, where she investigates neurotoxins produced by cyanobacteria, reflects her deep interest in applying chemistry to real-world forensic and environmental problems. Katherine will further explore her passion for forensic chemistry through her internship at the CFSRE. She looks forward to continuing to grow in the field of forensic science—especially in toxicology—and ultimately aims to work in a crime laboratory where she can contribute to solving complex cases through science.
