Elizabeth Winnacker is an undergraduate forensic science student with a concentration in biology and criminalistics. Currently studying at Mercyhurst University, Elizabeth plans on using biological analysis for criminal investigation. Through coursework in molecular biology, genetics, and chemistry, Elizabeth has built a solid foundation for pursuing a career in forensic biology. Outside of classes, Elizabeth has worked on a research project testing lab-raised trout for viruses before they were released into the wild, and has processed donor remains in the school’s wet lab. Excited to continue learning, Elizabeth is looking forward to the biology summer internship at CFSRE.
