Intern

Sarah Herzfeld is an undergraduate Forensic Chemistry student with a concentration in DNA. Sarah also has a minor in molecular biology, biochemistry, and bioinformatics. Currently, she attends Towson University in Maryland and is entering her junior year of college. Throughout Sarah’s time at Towson, she has taken biology courses in genetics, molecular biology, serology, and DNA analysis. She has also taken courses in organic and analytical chemistry. All of these classes have provided Sarah with a strong background to succeed in the field of forensic biology.

Beyond the classroom, Sarah is involved in a student organization to promote the involvement and development of women in STEM. She also tutors students in chemistry and biology. Sarah is an active member of the Towson University Honors College and will be serving as a student director in the Fall. She enjoys aiding other students in the pursuit of their education, especially in STEM-related fields.

Sarah is excited to be a forensic biology intern at the CFSRE this summer to increase her own knowledge of forensic science and gain new laboratory skills. She also looks forward to making connections with others in the field of forensic science to support her professional growth.
