Intern

Rachel Green is a rising senior at Hofstra University, where she is majoring in Forensic Science. She has a strong focus on forensic chemistry in her studies, both in coursework and undergraduate research. She has enjoyed a range of chemistry courses, including analytical chemistry, instrumental analysis, and forensic chemistry. Alongside chemistry, biology, and physics coursework, she takes forensics-specific classes such as trace analysis, microscopy, and crime scene investigation.

Outside of the classroom, Rachel is an employee at the Chemistry Lab Stockroom at Hofstra University, where she enjoys hands-on experience preparing solutions and lab materials. In addition, she has been engaged in undergraduate forensic chemistry research, where she has had the opportunity to orally present at the 2026 ACS Undergraduate Research Symposium.

Through the CFSRE, Rachel has been able to develop her understanding of forensic chemistry, working alongside peers and mentors to grow as a forensic scientist. She has gained hands-on experience with foundational skills, including working a mock case end-to-end and testifying in a moot court. She is extremely grateful for this experience and has appreciated her time at the CFSRE.
