Intern

Kaitie Phillips graduated in the spring of 2026 from Indiana University Indianapolis with dual degrees in forensic science and biology. This fall, she will attend Marshall University to begin her Master of Science in Forensic Science, specializing in DNA analysis.

While her prior background includes three years of biomedical research, she is eager to pivot her skills toward direct forensic applications in the laboratory. This summer, she served as a forensic biology intern at the Center for Forensic Science Research & Education (CFSRE).

In this role, she refined her technical skills and gained a deeper understanding of current forensic laboratory standards. The highlight of her experience was touring active laboratories and networking with professionals across her future career field.
