FMI Mentor

Katya Beltran Katya Beltran is a junior double majoring in chemistry and criminology at the University of Maryland. She was the past president of the Alpha Chi Sigma professional chemistry fraternity in the year 2021-2022. She is currently in the Gutierrez Labs Research Group, where she does computational chemistry under the leadership of a graduate mentor. She also serves as a leader on the Racial Diversity Steering and Inclusion Committee for the department of chemistry and biochemistry. She enjoys tutoring others, working out, playing board games, and dancing with friends! She is excited to intern as a forensic toxicology mentor this summer for CFSRE. She is really bubbly and a fun person to talk to, so don’t hesitate to strike up a conversation with her!
