Arcadia program

Master’s Degree in General Forensic Science

The MS Program in Forensic Science at Arcadia University provides high quality, competent and professional master’s level forensic science education and training in the areas of forensic biology, chemistry, toxicology and trace evidence analysis. Students in this program complete coursework in all four areas of forensic science listed above. This generalist approach to graduate study in forensic science makes for a well rounded educational experience. This two-year program requires completion of graduate level research in addition to coursework and culminates in a required internship experience.



Master’s Degree in Forensic Biology

The MS in Forensic Biology program at Thomas Jefferson University offers a specialized education in scientific techniques designed for advancement and professional development in the field of forensic biology. Upon completion of this degree, students will be experts on serological identification of biological fluids & tissues, forensic DNA analysis & interpretation, and the use of advanced techniques in forensic biology. Students will perfect their laboratory capabilities through thesis-based research on state-of-the-art instrumentation, having the opportunity to present their findings at a professional conference. An internship opportunity is offered to each student as a part of their graduate experience. The developed curriculum far exceeds the educational requirements set forth by the FBI’s Quality Assurance Standards for Forensic DNA Testing Laboratories. Recognized as a Professional Science Master’s Degree (PSM), this program blends advanced coursework in science with an array of professional skill-development and management components to prepare scientists for leadership in the field.



Thomas Jefferson University biology

Master’s Degree in Forensic Toxicology

The MS Program in Forensic Toxicology at Thomas Jefferson University is designed to position students for advancement and professional development in the specific field of forensic toxicology. This program provides students with expertise in all areas of toxicology including workplace drug testing, post mortem analysis as well as human performance toxicology. In addition to the required coursework as well as a compulsory internship experience, a thesis research project develops skills in experimental design, critical assessment of results and innovative thinking. These are crucial skills for success in a leadership role in forensic toxicology. Recognized as a Professional Science Master’s (PSM) degree, this program blends business and management courses with professional components to prepare scientists for leadership in their chosen field.



Certificates in Cannabis Science

The CFSRE cannabis related educational offerings are developed in partnership with Thomas Jefferson University’s Institute of Emerging Health Professions and Lambert Center for the Study of Medicinal Cannabis & Hemp. The programs are designed to provide students with the knowledge in cannabis medicine, science, business, and policies, required to enter the cannabis industry, support patients, add to existing research and develop innovative cannabis business models.

The recently launched innovative MS in Medical Cannabis Science & Business is offered in conjunction with three Graduate Certificates in Cannabis Medicine (designed to provide an understanding of the underlying science and clinical application of endocannabinoids, phytocannabinoids and synthetic cannabinoid), Cannabis Science (designed to provides an in-depth view of the botany and chemistry of the cannabis plant, cannabinoids pharmacology, and how to identify and quantify the different chemical components and potential toxicants in cannabis), Cannabis Business (designed to equip graduates with the knowledge, skills and entrepreneurial mindset needed to turn a unique winning idea that fills an unmet need in the cannabis industry into reality). All of the courses are offered online by national experts and leaders in the cannabis field and allow for maximum flexibility.
