Graduate Assistant

Amy StringerAmy is a medical student at Temple University’s Lewis Katz School of Medicine. She graduated from Arcadia University with her Master's in Forensic Science in 2021 and her Bachelors in Biochemistry in 2020. She is a currently working under Dr. Kevin Legg on the development and validation of an extraction method to detect and differentiate insulin and analogs from postmortem injection sites. This is being carried out in tissue using SPE and analysis via LC/MS/MS as well as via traditional histological staining methods. She has prior research experience in cancer biology and computational theoretical chemistry. She was a an instructor for Organic Chemistry and Microbiology and a tutor in many science courses for 4 years. She enjoys reading science fiction and fantasy, playing with her pet parakeets, along with playing video and board games when she isn’t studying.
