The CFSRE is located just north of Philadelphia in Willow Grove, PA, and is easily accessible by local public transportation. The CFSRE occupies 10,000 square feet that houses laboratory and classroom space. The facility has two classrooms which seat 24 persons each, and can be opened to accommodate an audience of up to 60 persons for special presentations and events.

The laboratory is equipped with state of the art instrumentation acquired through the generosity of the Fredric Rieders Family Foundation, and our partners at NMS Labs, Agilent Technologies, Sciex, and Waters. The instrumentation is used exclusively for faculty and student research, as well as for teaching in both our academic programs and our continuing education courses.

The toxicology and chemistry laboratory space includes over 5,000 square feet of sample preparation, teaching space, and instrumentation. The instrument section is outfitted with advanced technology, including several high-resolution mass spectrometer platforms, liquid chromatographs coupled with tandem mass spectrometers and gas chromatographs mass spectrometers from various vendors.

The biology section of laboratory includes 3,000 square feet of sample preparation, teaching space and instrumentation. The space includes a dedicated post amplification room, which also houses the newest STR genotyping technology and equipment. Additionally, the space contains a distinct area for sequencing preparation and a next generation sequencing platform.
